Floor Repair

Overview

Why Long Island chooses us for floor repair.

Things happen. A dishwasher leaks overnight. A pet has an accident. A heavy piece of furniture gouges the finish. For most LI flooring shops, the answer is "replace the whole floor." For us, repair is the default. We stock leftover planks from every major manufacturer, we color-match blends on site, and we replace damaged boards individually.

What You Get

The specifics.

Board-by-Board Replacement

Hardwood planks come out individually with a track saw and pry bar. New plank nails in, finish is feather-blended. You can't tell where the repair was.

Material Library of Leftovers

We keep 1-2 boxes of every major hardwood and LVP line for 5+ years after discontinuation. That matters when you need to match a 2021 Mohawk line in 2026.

Water Damage Restoration

If the water dried quickly, we replace damaged planks only. If subfloor rotted, we replace that too. Coordination with your homeowner's insurance if it's a covered loss.

Refinish Over Repair

Sometimes a single refinish over the whole floor is cheaper than 15 board-by-board repairs. We'll tell you honestly which makes sense.

Our Process

How we do it.

  1. 1

    On-site assessment

We photograph damage, measure affected area, and identify the product (species, manufacturer, color) by matching to showroom samples.

  2. 2

    Source matching material

From our inventory, from the manufacturer, or from a distributor. If the product is discontinued, we recommend blending with a close match.

  3. 3

    Cut out damaged boards

Track saw crosscuts, pry bar lifts boards. Subfloor inspected for moisture or rot.

  4. 4

    Install new boards

Nail-down, glue-down, or click-lock depending on floor type. Feather-blend finish at seam boundaries.
