Pergo PRO Installer · Budget-Friendly
Long Island Laminate Flooring Installation
The budget option. 15-25 year lifespan. Pergo, Quick-Step, Mohawk.

Overview
Why Long Island chooses us for laminate.
Laminate is the value option — about 30-40% cheaper than LVP, 50% cheaper than hardwood. Lifespan is shorter (15-25 years) and it's only water-resistant, not waterproof. Best for playrooms, workshops, rental units, and anywhere the priority is cost over longevity.

What You Get
The specifics.
Pergo PRO Installer
We're certified by Pergo, the category leader. That matters for warranty claims and for access to the premium Pergo Extreme line (which is effectively LVP at a slightly lower price point).
Click-Lock Floating Install
Laminate clicks together just like LVP — no nails, no glue. Floats over an existing floor or subfloor with an 3mm foam underlayment.
AC Rating 3-5
Abrasion-class rating: AC3 for residential, AC4 for heavy residential/light commercial, AC5 for heavy commercial. We recommend AC4 minimum for LI homes with kids or pets.
Water-Resistant (not waterproof)
Modern laminate handles spills if cleaned quickly. It's not the right call for bathrooms, laundry rooms, or mudrooms where standing water is possible. For those rooms, we steer customers to LVP.
Our Process
How we do it.
- 1
Subfloor prep & moisture check
Must be flat within 3/16" over 10 ft. Concrete slabs need a vapor barrier.
- 2
Foam underlayment
3mm high-density foam with attached vapor barrier over concrete, standard foam over wood subfloors.
- 3
Click-lock plank install
First row against the longest wall with spacer gaps. Subsequent rows stagger at 12-18" for realistic pattern. T-moldings at transitions.
- 4
Trim & transitions
Quarter-round shoe or baseboard return. T-moldings between laminate and other floor types. Reducers at carpet boundaries.
